colortest software package provides utilities to test color capabilities of terminal, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install colortest
colortest is installed in your system.
Make ensure the colortest package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep colortest *
You will get with colortest package name, version, architecture and description in a table
